Full Gideon's Rock Walkthrough

 

Cloud Canyon

 

When you enter Gideon’s rock you will find yourself at Cloud Canyon. You can see the nanite monster at a distance fighting. There is an opening to your right, go down to find a chest with 1x Elemental Intensifier inside.

When you get near, you will see a small cinematic where a hunter says the creature is going Berserker. When the cinematic is over, you can approach 1x One-Handed Hunter (You can obtain Aggression Amplifier implant from their head and JAG-9 'Longfang' from their arms) from behind and perform a backstab. There are also 2x One-Handed Hunter on the back. You can find an opening to your left, inside you will find 1x Cache of Advanced Tech.

Keep going until you reach some stairs. Before going up, check the tree on your left and you will find 1x Cache of Advanced Tech. Go up the stairs to reach Gideons Rock Overlook

 

Gideon's Rock Overlook

This area serves as the main HUB in Gideon's Rock. Here you'll meet Hawke, a hunter that offers you assistance to capture the creature and offers you to keep half the reward. Accept his offer and you'll obtain the quest The Three Towers. You can also meet the NPCs Kill Switch and Roach. Talk to Roach he will give you the quest The Puppet Master.

There is a Medbay in the central area of the room. If you explore the room you can also find audiolog Repeller Guide. You can also find 1x Big Pile of Metal Scrap on the area behind Kill Switch.

 Once you are done, go down the ramp until you reach Central Crossing

 

Central Crossing

When you reach the bottom of the ramp you will have to face 1x Shielded GAIA. They can be a tough enemy, a good strategy is to first focus on the arm wearing her weapon. Even when you cut it off, it will remain operational so you’ll need to cut off another piece.

Once you’ve defeated it, explore the area and you will find audiologs: “Status Update”, “Cervante’s Secret” and 1x Pile of Metal Scrap.

From here you can go three ways:

Boar Wilds Trailhead

Cougar Trailhead

Mustang Hills Trailhead

 

Cougar Trailhead:

Go up the stairs until you find the CREO Institute Of Technology. Here you will see Strange Vision 7/10. When the vision is over, you’ll acquire Strange Vision 7/10 and Fractal Skullcrusher.

To your left you will find CREO Patio. Here you can find audiolog “Beep Boop! Beep Boop! Beep Boop! Boop?”, quest item “Lost Seed” and the NPC GardenCraft VT-16 which will give you the quest “Garden Variety”.

On the other side of the building, you will find an open area with a chest. Inside the chest you can find 1x Muscular Enhancement Injection implant.

Go inside the CREO Institute of Technology. Here you can meet the NPC H.A.R.O.L.D. He won’t provide any valuable information for the moment. If you go to the left part of the upper level, you will find a chest with 1x Cache of Advanced Tech inside.

Go back outside where you saw the strange vision. You will see a road going left called Cougar Trail.

You will find 1x One-Handed Hunter patrolling the road. You can perform a backstab if you approach slowly. You can find audiolog “Gideon's Rock!” to your right at the edge of the cliff. If you go down the stairs you will find 1x Manslayer Implant. And inside the cave 1x Lost Seed.

Go back and keep going until the road splits. Go left and you'll find an open area with some bushes on the left. Beware as 1x One-Handed Hunter is waiting there. After you defeat him, walk to the bushes and you will sneak behind another 1x One-Handed Hunter. Explore the area and you will find 1x Lost Seed.

Keep going and you will face 1x Shielded Gaia. (Note: when the area is first explored, this area is covered with nanites, & this statue will be Nanite Infused & immobile) If you are having troubles, go back to the open area and fight it there. After you’ve defeated the GAIA, you will find an opening to your left where you can find 1x Toxic Filter.

Keep going and you’ll find another open area with 2x One-Handed Hunter. (Again, when first explored, there will be two large Nanite Warper Creatures & two smaller Nanite Creatures) Go down the small stairs and turn around. Follow the small passage until you reach the edge of the cliff, here you will find 1x Toxic Filter and a magnetic lift that you can unlock that takes you back to Central Crossing.

Turn around and go back to the main road, go up the stairs and you will find audiolog Thanks for All The Fish. Keep going up and you will reach CREO Art Foundation Gallery – Repeller Area

CREO Art foundation Gallery Repeller Area

You will reach a small area with 1x Shielded Gaia on the edge of the cliff. You can also find 1x Small Pile of Metal Scrap underneath where the Gaia was standing.

Go inside the deck area. You can find a magnetic lift to your right that will lead you back to the Central Crossing. To your left, you can enter the gallery where you will find 1x Hunter’s Keycard that unlocks the repeller.

Go up the stairs at the end of the hall and you will find 2x One-handed Hunter. You can perform a backstab on the hunter standing in front of the stairs. Keep going until you reach the upper part and you will find audiolog “Taking a Hint”, 1x Small Pile of Metal Scrap and the repeller tower controls. Activate the Repeller tower and go back to Central Crossing.

 

MUSTANG HILLS

You will reach a small opening where you’ll find 1x Shielded Gaia. Ignore her for now and rush through the bushes to your forward-left and you’ll find a magnetic lift leading to where the GAIA are made.

Don't activate the switch until you've explored the room and found an audiolog A.I.D. Commercial and a chest with 1x Critical Power Enhancer implant. Now activate the switch and return where you came from (up the magnetic lift).

Go back to the open area and you'll find the Shielded Gaia has been lowered to where you just were, making it safe to continue forward without fighting it. You’ll find 1x One-Handed Hunter. Explore the area near the waterfall to find 1x Reclamation Buddy.

There is a magnetic locked door. If you open it you’ll enable an elevator leading back to Gideon's Rock Overlook. Go up the stairs and on the highest part you’ll find audiolog “Utopia News”

Keep going down until you find an open area with 2x Shielded Gaia. After you defeat the Shielded Gaia’s open the chest behind them to find 1x Kinetic Inject-Charger.

Head down through the ramp and fight 1x One-Handed Hunter. Keep going until you are in the bottom part. You can find 1x Toxic Filter underneath the stairs.

You can find 3x One-Handed Hunter and 1x Shielded Gaia. Once you’ve deal with the enemies, explore the area to find a chest with 1x Super-Oxygenating Injection inside. You can also find audiolog Cervante’s Secret 1/3 next to the jammed door.

When you have cleared the area, open the jammed door and keep going until you reach Mustang Hills Repeller Area.

 MUSTANG HILLS REPELLER AREA

You will reach an open area filled with mines. There is also 1x One-Handed Hunter on top of a structure. If you step into the mines you will be electrified. You can find 1x Large Pile of Metal Scarp to your right near the edge of the cliff. You can also find audiolog “Life in Jericho” behind a fallen tree log.

Go up the ramp near the fallen tree and you’ll find a computer. Activate it to enable the magnetic lift where the Repeller is located. If you haven’t dealt with the hunter yet, he will come down to fight

you.

Use the magnetic lift to reach the Repeller and activate it using the computer. Once activated, follow the path to your right until you find an interaction button that enables an extendable bridge.

Before activating the bridge, go up and you’ll find yourself at the roof of Guiden’s Rock Overlook, turn left and explore the area to find another 1x Lost Seed quest item.

Go back to the bridge, activate it and cross it to find 1x Lost Seed quest item. If you continue the road you’ll reach Boar Wilds Trailhead.

 

BOAR WILD TRAILHEAD

If you haven't visited  Mustang hills: Go up the road and keep going until you find an area with a statue and some scrap metal beneath it. If you look back, you will find a small path leading you to 1x Lost Seed. You can see an expandable bridge. This bridge can be activated from Mustang Hills.

Go back and keep going until you reach Boar Wilds. You will see 1x Shielded Gaia on an open area. You can find a magnetic lock door to your right leading back to Central Crossing. Once you’ve cleared the area, go down the ramp located to the left until you reach the Metea Forest

 

METEA FOREST

You will see an open area with 1x One-Handed Hunter in front of you, beware as there is another 1x One-Handed Hunter cloaked on the bushes to your right.

Before going into the forest, go inside the opening to your left. Go down the ramp to find audiolog “The Smell of Jericho” Keep going down and you’ll reach a small area with 1x Pile of Metal Scrap.

Go back to the forest and go up the ramp to your left. You’ll find a chest with the implant “Nanite Shatterer” inside. Jump down to the ramp. Beware as 1x One-Handed Hunter will attack you from the bushes to your left.

Keep going until you find a Boar Statue Turn to your right and follow the road. Beware as 2x One-Handed Hunter are waiting in the bushes. At the end of the path you can find 1x Pile of metal scrap on some bushes to your right and 1x Reclamation Buddy on some bushes to your left.

Go back to the statue and keep going down the road until you find some stairs to your left going down and a ramp to your right going up.

Climb the ramp to your right and you’ll find 1x One-Handed Hunter and a chest. Once you’ve dealt with the Hunter, open the chest to find 1x Robotic Disrupter. You can also find audiolog “Death of a Hunter” to your right.

Go back and take the stairs next to the waterfall. You’ll find a magnetic lock that enables a magnetic lift going back to Central Crossing.

You can see 1x Nanite Warper on the trees. Use your drone to lure it and fight him. You can cut it’s arms to obtain Nanite Beastclaw weapon. Keep going down and you’ll see 1x Incapacitated Shielded Gaia. Defeat it and keep going down.

You’ll find an area with a big nanite patch on the ground and 3x Small Nanite Monster. Keep going and you’ll find an open area with 3x Small Nanite monster and 1x Nanite Warper.

Once you’ve defeated them, take the stairs to your left. Explore the area to find 1x Manslayer implant and 1x Reclamation Buddy implant.

Go back to the open area and follow the indications of the sigh with a boar. Beware as there is 1x Nanite Warper on the trees and 3x Small Nanite Monsters on the ground. Go up the stairs and you’ll reach Boar Wilds Repeller Area where a boss fight against Captain Cervantes will begin.

BOAR WILD Repeller Area

The battlefield is rather small and Cervantes can perform a series or both long and short-range attacks. The best strategy is to stay as near to him as possible. Use your drone to break his invisibility as soon as he is activating it and use the de-cloaking window to attack him

Cervantes moves:

Cloaking device: He can cloak and then re-appear with an attack. There are two ways of dealing with this. One is to focus on his body armor until you break the attachment. (If you break the attachment he won’t be able to use the invisibility again). The second strategy is to damage him as soon as he goes invisible. This breaks the invisibility and opens a window to attack. You can either attack him with your weapon or if he is far away attack him with the drone. Even 1 hit will break the invisibility.

Attack from below: The easiest attack to dodge and parry. He will take a small-time to perform an attack from below. Wait until he is near to perform the parry.

Long Reach Katana Attack from the right: This is the most difficult attack to evade. It takes a long time to charge, and he moves very quickly so it’s very difficult to parry effectively. You can opt to dodge to the left when he is coming at you.

Combo attack from above and left. He will attack you from above and then from the left. This attack is rather slow and easy to parry, but make sure you have enough stamina to block both attacks.

Weapon Fire: After performing an attack, he can draw his weapon and perform a ranged attack. This attack cannot be parried and deals high damage. Try to dodge in circles to avoid it.

Attack from the left. He can quickly attack from the left. If you are quick enough, it’s easy to parry and perform a counter move

Captain Cervantes Rewards

• 6.000 Tech Scrap
• Jag-22 ‘Aeterna’ (Cutting his arm) (this weapon can be obtained from Ronin enemies later in game)
• JAG-1000 'Carnivore' Shotgun drone module (Cutting his left leg) - Can only be obtained from this fight; if missed cannot be obtained until next NG cycle.
• Cervante’s Secret 3/3
• Alternate Kill reward: WRAITH Set parts (depending on finishing blow)

Once the boss fight is over, go up the stairs and reach the Repeller controls. Active it and the creature will leave the area.

There is an extendable bridge to your left, activate it and cross it. Before opening the Jammed door, explore the area to your right and you will find a chest with 1x Drone Cyclo-Intensifier inside.

Go back and open the Jammed door. Keep going until you find yourself in front of the CREO Institute Of Technology. Go back to the Gideon's Rock Overlook.

CENTRAL CROSSING

Talk to Hawke and he will tell you that the Nanite Beast has fallen into the trap. You can now go inside and fight the beast. Before fighting the beast you can go and talk to Roach to finish the quest The Puppet Master. If you tell him the truth, he will reward you with 1x Large Pile of Metal Scrap and 1x Jack-27 'Rainfall"

You can also go back to GardenCraft VT-16 and plant the 5x Lost Seed. You'll obtain 2x Pile of Metal Scrap, 2x Small Pile of Metal Scrap and 1x Large Pile of Metal Scrap for planting the seeds. After all the seed are planted, talk to GardenCraft VT-16 and he will reward you with 1x SERU Biomaster.

Go to Central Crossing and drop inside the hole in the ground a the fight against Delver will begin.

This Boss has three phases and can be a very challenging fight. You won't be able to recover between phases and if you die you'll have to start over from Phase 1. Try to learn the boss mechanics of each phase so it becomes easier.

DELVER BOSS FIGHT

Phase 1

The beast is standing on both legs and attacks with its claws. It can perform a three hit combo from either direction. Try to block the first attack and the next 2 will be easy.

It can borrow on the ground (use this time to attack him and deal some damage) and then it will come out two different times to perform a single attack. When it comes out, dodge and then go in to deal some damage. The third time it will come out of the ground and leap at you. Try to dodge when it’s near you.

Repeat until you drain all the health bar and phase 2 will begin.

Phase 2

It will now attack you as a four legged beast. When you are far away, it will run across the room trying to stomp you. If it succeeds, it will drag you to a corner.

When at close quarter combat, it can perform a powerful dual combo attack (one from each side) that deals high damage. After doing the combo, it will also leap at your location to bite you.

After some time, it will become nanites and go to the roof. This is the most important part of the fight. When it throws nanites at you, it deals damage to itself. It will fire two volleys and then it will throw itself at your location. If you dodge it, it will stagger providing an oportunitty to attack. When it falls down, it will recover any nanites that were not destroyed recovering health. You need to dodge the nanites and then destroy them. If you destroy the nanites, it won’t be able to recover itself.

If you are having troubles at this stage you can keep a safe distance and use your drone to deal a considerable amount of damage.

 

Phase 3

It will stand in two legs and move very slow.  If you stay on the opposite side of the arena, it will be an easy fight.  

It will do 2 attacks at long range.  The first is a ground slam that will send nanites at you and leave a trail.  The second, it will throw itself on the ground and slide at you again leaving a trail of nanites.  Just stay back a bit because the hitbox is bigger than it looks. Then go in, charge an attack and break one of its limbs to ensure you get the Helix V2.  Rinse and repeat and you can do this phase without taking damage.  The phase should look like this:

Slams (just move) slide (move, or dodge) Charge attack to break a limb, 2 extra quick attacks, dodge out then run to the other side and repeat.   

Side note: It will only have 2 nanite trails up at a time.

Delver Rewards

• Nano Brain
• Helix of the Delver
• Alternate Kill reward: Helix of the Delver V2.0

After you’ve defeated the beast, you will see Strange Vision 6/10 and a chest with Reaper's Testament inside.

You now have the Nano Brain. Go back to the CREO Institute Of Technology.

Full Gideon's Rock Walkthrough

Once outside, you’ll hear Athena’s voice and see a giant monster.

Follow the Horse trail until you reach the top. You’ll notice a previously close door is now open. You can find a chest inside with the implant Nano-Purge Injection.

Go back to Gideon’s Rock Overlook. You’ll find Mortimer Gideon The Third and audiolog Hawke's Message. Head back to Cloud 9 Bar. You’ll have to fight 3x Chrysalis Hunters on your way. You can obtain Infected 'Rainfall' from their arms.
